Embroidery
I paint with fabric and draw with thread. Each fabric art original is created by piecing my own hand dyed cottons with a variety of fabrics to "paint" a backdrop of color. After quilting the assembled piece, I use the needle on my sewing machine as an electric pencil and "draw" in the details with rayon and metallic thread. The finished piece is then mounted and framed under glass.Paintings
I paint with acrylics on a gallery stretched canvas. My paintings are done in a series using saturated color to capture my vision of the landscape.Susan’s work is available from her studio in Silver City, NM.
